UPDATE-STATUS RFINDER/UNIFIED RADIOS/COMJOT

Source: Andrew Harrod
Effective immediately, Unified Radios will no longer fulfill RFinder orders. Customers should exercise caution when placing any orders with RFinder, as they currently have limited capacity to fulfill orders beyond direct drop shipping from China. Unified Radios has no control over RFinder’s operations or fulfillment process, and we encourage customers to confirm any order expectations directly with RFinder.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support of Unified Radios as we focus on delivering next-generation radio software and services for our community.

This continues to be the greatest adventure of my life, and that says a lot. To start with basically nothing and create a worldwide repeater directory and then successfully launch 8 devices, learning to dance with the Chinese, learning customer support and service. It's been great and I really appreciate the kind words many of you have imparted in the past week and years quite frankly. I have had the great opportunity to use the skills and theory learned at the age of 13, as a third gen Ham…well, lets just say Grandpa Art, W2LH and Grandma Madeline W2EEO would have been proud. My Dad K2ACM Marty and My Mom are. As many of you know, RFinder has been Mom approved for many years. She claims I finally did something right. I appreciate all the support you guys have given me over the years and patience as we created the coolest radio ever IMHO, A great adventure as I said…

Covid was a real challenge for all of us…somehow we got through it save the loss of fingerprint readers, difficulties in supply, and the resulting cash flowchallenges. It took a toll…

Andrew immediately stepped up when I asked and helped us dig out of a hole that seemed insurmountable, got us caught up on orders, improved our infrastructure and processes, and provided us capital to recover. He has been a great partner and even got Joe to jump back in… it would have been a real dream team.

Long story short, after a rough couple of months with them, Andrew and I had a meeting with our manufacturer who said some things about their direction and commitment that shocked us. I will not go into the details as I am attempting to have them reconsider their position, which looks good thankfully.

However, because of this and some other items, we were not able to meet the expectations of the partnership. So now we have RFinder again with me at the helm, with a laser focus on hardware innovation. I am working on fixing the A13 issues as well as working with another manufacturer.

We aim to quickly resolve the situation with China and target to have DT865 devices upgradable by end of year. The new platform for the B1+ P7 and P10 (DT965) and A13 on the DT865 devices shortly thereafter.

So I wanted to reiterate the immense support Andrew gave us to save RFinder… He saved us quite frankly. And the great programming and ideas Joe brought to the table to make RFinder better. RFinder is very much alive. We will be shipping M6's again in the next weeks again and continue on from there.

Thank you all for your support.

Sincerely,
Bob W2CYK

Statavest Holdings LLC and ComJoT LLC have each decided to immediately discontinue their planned acquisition and partnership with RFinder LLC. This decision, made after careful consideration, reflects commitment to upholding the highest standards of service and innovation.

Key Information:

  • RFinder’s manufacturing partner is unable to move forward with the Android 13 upgrade commitment at this time. While that may change in the future, we wanted to ensure unfulfilled pre-orders for Android 13 upgrades and radios were canceled and refunded. Shopify, RFinder's e-commerce platform, will automatically transfer full refunds to customers. We appreciate your patience during this.

What's Next for RFinder?

  • Earlier this year, Statavest made a significant investment to rescue RFinder. Subsequently, as part of this transition, Statavest will fully own all RFinder software, associated intellectual property, the Worldwide Repeater Directory (WWRD), RF1, and the upcoming RF2. This ensures continued service and support for RFinder users, allowing Bob to focus on hardware innovation and secure a manufacturer. No action is needed from users, who can continue to reach out to support at help@rfinder.com. A rebranding of the software assets is planned to occur within a month.

Challenges and Decision:

  • Although the plan was to collaborate and innovate with Bob and RFinder LLC, a review revealed several significant challenges, especially with RFinder's manufacturing partner, hindering our shared goals and future innovation.

Statavest, ComJoT, and RFinder are all committed to a smooth and collaborative transition, ensuring that customer interests are the highest priority. As we pursue new opportunities in the communication technology industry, we remain dedicated to innovation and leadership.
Thank you for your continued support and trust.
